New stock description for "Direct delivery from manufacturer" items, rather than "out of stock"
One of our main suppliers has about 600 (mostly large / bulky / heavy) items that it never keeps in stock. These items are always sent directly from the manufacturer.
The problem we have is that these items always appear as "out of stock" on our website, so customers will never buy them as they'll just go to someone else that says they have stock.
So rather than just having "in stock" and "out of stock", can we have a new "direct delivery" stock status for such items (with the option to change the exact text, as with in/out of stock)? Perhaps with an additional line of text to be displayed underneath with an explanation?
So instead of "out of stock" it maybe says:
Special Order
This item will be shipped direct from the manufacturer.

JohnThere would also need to be a way of marking the product as "direct delivery", which would need to be updatable in bulk.
