Alt type D subs to be un-findable on the EvoX storefront

If a Sku is marked alt D in DDMS and has a sub item, the functionality works as wanted. But if no sub item is in DDMS, the original item should not appear on the storefront (because D = discontinued).
A workaround could be found if the "D" designation was sent from DDMS, but it is only sent when an item is added as the sub in DDMS. In the attached image, both items are set as alt "D". The top item has a sub SKU and displays "original_type": "3" to signify the D type. But the bottom item doesn't have a sub item, so the "original_type" is not available.
